Support

The Art Sanctuary appreciates the support of members, volunteers, foundations, and corporate sponsors.  To learn more about the myriad ways to support us through membership, annual giving, exhibition sponsorships, or volunteering, please explore the sections below.

"The Art Sanctuary has raised the bar on culture and arts in our community and enhanced our quality of life by providing first class programming, education and exhibits in a wide variety of arts.  They have also made their beautiful facility available for meetings and special events and in doing so, have become a valuable asset to our businesses." - Jamie Thompson, Greater Martinsville Chamber of Commerce

"I believe the Art Sanctuary is an important asset in the revitalization of our beloved downtown. I only hope it continues to grow and expand as it will continue to attract new people to our area." - Chip Keller, Keller's Office Supply

Volunteer

The volunteer and docent corps of the Art Sanctuary are essential in ensuring that we achieve our mission of fostering creativity and stimulate interest in life long learning of fine arts and crafts in Morgan County and surrounding communities . We are continually looking for individuals who will help us better serve the community. Art Sanctuary volunteers have a unique opportunity to support the arts while learning new skills and meeting people with similar interests.

Volunteers play many roles at the Sanctuary, including planning and staffing special events, touring visitors, and offering administrative support. We currently need volunteers to:

  • Serve desk duty at the Art Sanctuary.
  • Serve on the Reception Committee (which entails helping out with the receptions at the gallery and at our monthly Open House.
  • Serve on the Exhibit Installation Committee (assisting with the receiving, hanging, and post-exhibit pick up of artwork).
  • Serve as a Monitor for exhibitions or other events (manning the desk, taking care of sales, opening and closing, etc.)
  • Assist with newsletters, mailings, and other special projects.
  • Docent (trained to give tours and provide information about all the featured artworks on exhibit in the gallery).

Sponsor

Exhibitions, which are free to the community, and scholarships, which make the joy of art classes possible for children and adults who would otherwise be unable to afford them, require funding. Major cultural events have many sponsorship opportunities. You can support one or more of our exhibits or provide scholarship money by contributing directly in one of several categories.
