About the Artist

Gretchen Ten Eyck Hunt knew at the tender age of 7 that she wanted a career in art. It wasn’t a matter of doing ,but a matter of being.  She sold her first work of art at the age of 12 and was accepted in her first professional art competition at the age of 14.  Gretchen started her training in art under the tutelage of Kramer Swords, MFA. She  received a B.A. degree  in Art specializing in Studio work from Flagler College, St,. Augustine, Fl.,  and  graduated from Art Instruction Schools Specializing in illustration. Her education encompasses  old school as well as new school approaches to “ What is Art”.  Her works can be found in  many private and public collections throughout the U. S.

Artist’s Mission

My work is created from a “theory “ approach. This allows me the opportunity to explore  different avenues of expression at the same time. My goal as an artist is to touch not only the intellect of the viewers , but touch the their inner most selves.  I want to communicate to the viewer feelings that transcend   the  logical and explore the possibilities beyond.  If my work touches and inspires you , then I have achieved my goal as an artist.
