The Art Sanctuary Reinvention Convention

A Recycled Materials Art Exhibit

Entry Rules

The Art Sanctuary Reinvention Convention Art Exhibit is presented to demonstrate the importance of recycling items for new purposes. All works submitted for consideration must be created from recycled items and materials. No more than 10% of the artwork can be of materials purchased for creating the work of art. These items are to be used for structure support and /or framing or changing color. Deadline for entry is August 24, 2010.

Categories:

A. On the Wall: Work must be no larger than 36” in length or width and not exceed 6” on depth. Weight can not exceed 25 pounds. A hanging system consisting of a wire and flat hangers must be included in the design to accommodate the Art Sanctuary hanging system.

B. Off the wall:

Floor Art: The work can be no larger than 72” in height and not exceed the overall width of 28” . Weight not exceed 75 pounds. Work must be securely attached to a platform with a minimum 2” locking caster system . Platform can not exceed 28” in any direction.

Table Art: The work can be not larger than 36” in height and not exceed the overall width of 24”. Weight not to exceed 25 pounds.

There Are Two Ways To Enter:

Entry fee: Adults, $35.00. Junior ( High school or younger), $5.00. This fee is a flat fee for entering one to three works. No more than three entries will be accepted from any one artist. All entries must be for sale . Art Sanctuary retains 30% commission.

Enter By Mail: Mail in a CD or photograph, Entry Card A, and entry fee to: Art Sanctuary, 190 N. Sycamore, Martinsville , Indiana, 46151. Post Mark no later than August 24, 2010. Entry Fee and Entry card “A” must be accompanied with entry photos or CD . No materials will be returned unless a self-addressed envelope with proper postage is included in application. Post cards will be available for artists to send to their patrons. Please send $1.00 for every 10 postcards to cover postage.

Enter On-line: Submit 2 mb or less JPEG images of each work must be 2mb or less in size. One image per entree of "On the wall"l category and no more than three images per entry of "Off the wall" category. Make sure all images are clearly marked and correspond with "A" entry cards. B entry card should be secured to the artwork. Deadline for entry is August 24, 2010.

Drop-off/Pickup for accepted work:

Saturday , September 25, 12-4. Pickup , Oct.23, 12-4. If these dates do not work, contact Gretchen Hunt 317-445-2926 to make arrangements . Any work not picked up will become the property of the Art Sanctuary . There will be no exceptions. Please note that the Art Sanctuary will make every effort to secure artwork, but cannot be not held responsible for any damage or loss.

Judging:

All entries will be juried for creative use of materials, esthetic quality and craftsmanship as well as appropriateness for viewing by patrons of all ages. No installation work will be considered for exhibit in this show. Judge is Kate Morgan , MFA. She is predominately a 3 D artist and is versatile in a variety of mediums, with strong emphasis in clay and mixed media.
